Dry scalp can creep up in the most dry and humid times of the year. And if you overuse heat tools, don’t condition your hair, or suffer from dry skin, you’re at risk for dry scalp. To remedy, deep condition your hair and scalp regularly, and try products like the Paul Mitchell Tea Tree line.
Rest assured, whether you have fine or thick hair, you CAN have volume! You just need the right tools and product. First, you’ll want to dry your hair upside down. Second, use a good root lifter and a paddle or round brush. Root lifters and thickening products such as Bed Head’s Superstar line, or Big Sexy Hair, are awesome volumizers.
Texture is all about the right cut and the right products. Without the right finishing products, your layers may go unnoticed. Pomades, pastes and waxes should be rubbed in the hands (not the fingertips), and then disbursed on the ends of the hair into your desired shape. A few texture favs: American Crew for men, and Bed Head Hard to Get, Manipulator and Punk Out.
Thickening products can help where nature left off. Try using thickening products like Bed Head Small Talk or Redken Body Full Plump to get thicker, fuller-looking hair. And, if your hair is not as thick as it once was, there are products that can help reclaim some of what is lost. Bosley Revive is one option.
Humidity is frizz’s best friend. And if you suffer from the frizzies, your BFFs should be the right product, an ionic drier, and ceramic based heat tools. These tools will help smooth the hair, and the product will help eliminate the frizz. A few frizz fighters: MOROCCANOIL, Redken Real Control, and Paul Mitchell Super Skinny.
