Have you ever been in a hair rut and needed a little color in your life? I have the perfect solution to add something that will give you a smile when the weather is gloomy or just add a little “tude” to your personal style.

I must say that when the time changes and it starts getting darker early, I tend to get the winter BLAHHHS! My suggestion to my hair color clients is usually to go a bit darker during the winter.  And for the adventurous type… how about a few strategically placed vivid streaks? =)

Some of the latest trends in hair color are focusing on bright strands of color that peek through the hair. I mean really bright colors such as blue, pink, orange, yellow, green, turquoise and the latest color in our collection, wild orchid! In stylist speak we call the placement of these colors “peek-a-boo” highlights and “vibrant vivid colors."

Check out the pictures below for a few ideas to add some “pop.” Yes, these are both pictures of yours truly. =) The first style was done by Amanda at our Southroads Hair Company and the second was created by Lori of the LookAfter education team.

Color is always fun to play around with! However, you need to consider your wardrobe when choosing the color, and your stylist can suggest a fun vivid that will go with your skin tone. These colors (just like any hair color) require some maintenance such as using a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner to help the color from fading. Sulfate-free products will lessen fading because it does not contain as many color stripping detergents. Step outside that box and add a vivid POP to your style!

Happy hair days!
